Essay Competition for High School Students

The Concordia Institute for Canadian Jewish Studies and the Concordia University Program in Judaic Studies are pleased to announce, Explorations of Jewish Identity: A New Essay Contest for Students. Entrants must reside in Quebec, and currently be in Grade 10 or 11. For full details on the competition including the essay questions, please consult the Pdf below.

Lecture Series for Students

Every year we hold a series of lectures for students. Please consult our Current Events to see the upcoming lectures or Past Events to view those that we offered in this series. These particular lectures are open to everyone but are scheduled with students in mind, offering them lectures that may be of particular interest or help to them. We welcome suggestions from students for future lectures.

All lectures take place from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the concordia religion building, fa-202, 2060 mackay street. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.

Memoir Project

Unpublished Memoirs of Holocaust Survivors in Canada,
Eds. Mervin Butovsky and Kurt Jonassohn.

The project, initiated some years ago to collect unpublished memoirs of Holocaust survivors in Canada, has now been expanded to include the publication of these memoirs. The survivor memoirs are at: http://migs.concordia.ca.

A small quantity are also available in hard copy, at university libraries and Holocaust memorial centers in Canada and abroad. This project has benefited from the support of Multiculturalism Canada, the Jewish Community Foundation of Montreal, and the Concordia Institute for Canadian Jewish Studies.
